Yarn:  DK or Sport Weight
Hook:  Size F

Ch a multiple of 10 + 2 to begin.  (I chained 222 to begin and my ripple measures 50 inches wide.)

Row 1: (right side)  Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in next 3 chs; *sk next 2 chs, dc in next 4 chs, ch 2, dc in next 4 chs; rep from * to last 6 chs; sk next 2 chs, dc in next 3 chs, 2 dc in last ch.  Ch 2, turn.

Row 2: Dc in first 4 dc; *sk next 2 dc, dc in next 3 dc, in next ch-2 sp work (dc, ch 2, dc); dc in next 3 dc; rep from * to last 5 dc; sk next 2 dc, dc in last 3 dc, 2 dc in 2nd ch of beg 2 chs.  Ch 2, turn.

Row 3:  Dc in first 4 dc; *sk next 2 dc, dc in next 3 dc, in next ch-2 sp work (dc, ch 2, dc); dc in next 3 dc; rep from *to last 5 dc; sk next 2 dc, dc in last 3 dc, 2 dc in 2nd ch of turning ch-2.  Ch 2, turn.


Repeat Row 2 for desired length.  Edge as desired.

  1. I have been looking for a blanket that was a little different for my soon-to-be second grandson. I adore the look of this afghan because it isn't just the same old ripple. I'm going to go digging in the stash for little boy baby yarn - probably green and blue and white. Thanks for sharing.
