GIVEAWAY!, Mish-Mash, Before/After/During

I'm in a hurry. I'm about to unplug my computer for the weekend so we can paint my office. Here's a mish-mash of photos from the week...

Kitchen window. Blue Buddha loves his new home.

This is Bella. We saw her at Walmart on our last trip there. Every single time we go there, we see people with dogs inside the store. Nobody seems to care. I sure don't! We asked the cashier about it, and she said it was against the rules, but they were told not to question anyone or enforce it. I love the laid-back attitude. Anywho...Bella has her own Facebook page if you're interested. "Bella and Her Fella." She was super-relaxed just walking around and stopping to let people take pictures of her. I think she's used to it and loves the attention. Sweet.

How to deal with dog hair?
Match your decor to them!

Pioneer Woman Sugar Bowl.

Remember the ugly-ass blue walls in my dining room that I couldn't stand?

Ugh!!

So much better already!! Yay!
Trim is still to be painted (same color, a slightly off-white)

And next will be the beautiful yellow and purple office...
Why oh why, people?

There is no excuse for this...NONE!

Today is the last day I will EVER have to look at this.
After pictures to come.

One-Dish scalloped potatoes and smoked sausage.
The recipe was from Susan Branch's Vinyard Seasons book.
She used breakfast sausage though.

I made a pan of Gingerbread for breakfast one day.
Thanks, Betty Crocker! Easy and good and perfect for a fall morning.

Me still recovering from the dining room painting. Ouch.

I'm experienced at recovering and I do it well. LOL. I cuddled up on the couch with the doggies and a new crochet book by Emma Lamb. Now I can't wait to make something from it...probably the Filet Daisy Potholder. But first I must paint the office today. I'm sure I'll need some recovery time after that too. Things sure are harder than they used to be with this old bod! I need recovery time after everything!

When I ordered this book, Amazon screwed up my order and somehow I ended up getting two of these books in my order. So guess what that means? LUCKY YOU! Leave me a comment on this post telling me you'd like to be entered, and I'll draw a winner next Wednesday, October 7th at midnight (Pacific Time). Winner announcement the next day.

See ya!

  12. Hey, I thought in an earlier post I saw a wall that looked more like you (the one where you showed us your new PW coffee mug) in what I believe is your living/family room (the color of the wall, not the wall itself). Hee Hee. I wanted to tell you about a new candle I got at Walmart, it is American Home by Yankee Candle. It smells really good (I got the Pumpkin Apple Harvest), has great throw and it was less than $15 for a 19 oz. Love your new colors. Your new home will look lovely when you're finished. I also noticed the rug by the stove. I may have been a stalker in a former life. :-/
It's definitely Fall here in the mountains of PA. I should have sent an e-mail, had a lot to say. If you wouldn't mind, please throw my name in the pot for your drawing. Don't overdo and keep cozy.
    Hugs!

  17. Well of course I want to be entered in your drawing! And since you stood me up to paint I think I should be entered twice!!! Bella is so cute! We are a bit laid back up here aren't we? Love your new paint color and I thought I should let you know that you're not alone. I have to rest up after doing a big job like that too these days. I'm trying to psych myself up to clean the carpets before the snow flies.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

That book looks good but don't enter me it would cost you far too much to send it all this way. Have a great weekend Pammy Sue. :) xx

  24. Hope that you are enjoying your decorating, you have made a great difference to your dining room, and I am sure that your office will look soooo much nicer when it is done, a bit bright right now for me for an office! Although I do have a very bright green wall in mine! Don't enter me in the giveaway because although it is very lovely it would cost a fortune to post! xx

  25. Recovery is my favorite part of painting, gardening, etc.
Your idea of decorating in pup-dog colors is perfect! hee-hee
Can't wait to see the office re-painted. I agree with you - some people have strange taste in color choices.
    Fingers crossed for the give-a-way.
    Hugs to all the pups!

  26. I know all about the old bods. Seems to take me forever to do anything especially now that it's getting colder. I'd appreciate being entered in the drawing. I like the afghan on the cover.

  27. Yellow and purple, I have no answer for that. Count me in on the book, actually just put my name in and don't add anyone else's.

  30. Is that Janie and Ollie on your bed? Love the decor - also you've done a fantastic job of the dining room. It looks very classy. Now, gingerbread for breakfast? That is something I've not heard of before. When I think gingerbread, I think of those little gingerbread men you buy at the bakery. So interesting how things are so different around the world. I would love to be in the draw for the copy of Crochet Home - the pictures on the cover look like my kind of projects. Looking forward to the after shots of your office. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. We have a public holiday here tomorrow - very quiet around here which I love. Lots of people go away for long weekends. xox

Have fun..... and you reminded me of how much I love gingerbread!

    I'd love the book!

  47. I am itching to order that book! I'm jealous of your cool fall temps. Going to be in the 80/90's all week here, ugh.
Your bedroom looks awesome, and there is nothing like a fresh coat of paint to spruce everything up. Painting is fun I think, but it's the after part that kills you, especially going up and down on the ladder.
Looks like you know how to take it easy after a big job. Now don't forget to pick my name for that book :)

  48. Hi Pammy Sue, I love the color of your walls and the way you've decorated the bedroom! Your house is looking fabulous. I love your doily in today's post too, it's very pretty. 50. Purple and gold were my high school colors back in Missouri...however I did not choose them and definitely have not coated my walls in either color :) Your decorating sense is more my style. The book looks very inspiring...and I'm certain my crafting needs inspiration even though Meredith thinks you should just put her name in the hat for the drawing :) xx
