This Past Weekend in Pictures

...and maybe a few words.
I feel like a stranger in a strange land here in blogland.
In fact, I feel like a stranger in a strange land just living my life right now.
So crazy!

First of all...

That's right.  Went on the market Friday and sold.
For cash. At way above asking price!
Yee-haw!

I'm sure you've heard about how much rain Texas has gotten.
I snapped this picture as we were leaving town on Friday.
The weather is crazy-scary around here this time of year.

Our local park's pond is way over where it normally is.
See the blue bench surrounded by water (center-right)?

We drove up by Lake Texoma to see the flood gates opened at the dam.

Hee-hee.
We did NOT stop in.

I was thirsty though, so on the way home Cap stopped and got me some water.
Have you seen this water? Kind of a cool bottle. I'm sure it's popular with the kids because it looks like you are drinking Vodka right out of the bottle. Lol.

We stopped at a sports grill and watched part of the NASCAR race.
I had a Black & Blue Burger (Black Angus beef and Blue Cheese).
Yum!

We had a lot of fun and a LOT of luck at the casino.
I may have some problems like everyone else, but I am a lucky girl.
How many times have I said that?
It's true. I am very lucky, and not just in this way.

We stopped in the art barn at the Magnolia Festival.
I talked to this lady who was spinning some yarn, or looming, or something.
I swear she said it was spinning, but it looks like a loom to me.

Anywho, she was a nice lady.
She made her sweater.

I haven't crocheted anything for what seems like weeks, maybe because it has been weeks. All the yarn is packed away in boxes. I kept some thread and my favorite hook out in case I get the urge. So far there just hasn't been time, or when there is, I just want to do nothing.

So that's it from me. Thanks for checking in. Love ya for reading. Please excuse my absence in commenting on your blogs lately. I am reading them when I get time, even if I'm not commenting.

See ya!

  24. Wow- selling your house that fast is fantastic! We haven't been over into Ok since the flooding started, but actually the whole month of May has been so awful, I've stayed home contemplating building an ark!
I'm so glad the sun is shining now, and also that the red has crested and is going down where I live.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  28. Good news on the sale of your house. I have been watching the news and hearing about all the rain Texas is having. I have a cousin who lives close to Waco, a brother who lives in Texarkana. I imagine they are seeing a lot of it as well. No need to apologize for not commenting, I think we all understand how crazy live becomes when there is packing and a move in the works. Just make sure you relax a bit too.

  29. Congrats Pammy Sue. It is a great feeling and relief when a home gets a buyer and exciting for you to get above your asking price! Finally got the builder to rough grade our new home's yard. Now to talk to landscapers. So tired of dirt. Getting more book boxes unpacked mainly with the help our of family. Crochet boxes were some of the first ones unpacked. Not that I've had that much time to crochet. Good luck with your upcoming move. I loved Texas when we toured it in our RV in 2008 but it does have crazy extremes in weather. LOL!
