Grape Doily

Pattern:  A Year of Doilies Book 5, April
Thread:  Aunt Lydia's #10, Wood Violet
Hook:  1.75 mm
Measurement:  21 inches

It felt so good to get back to the thread crochet! I had never done a doily with grapes so decided to give this one a try. The pattern states the doily is 15.5 inches, but mine came out much larger for some reason, at 21 inches. The book this pattern is in (listed above) is a great book to have if you like crocheting doilies. This is the third pattern I've made out of it.

Updated:  3/13/15 added to the link party HERE.

We've had snow and ice the last two days, and we may get more tomorrow. Our last big hoorah for "winter" usually comes in February, so it's right on time. We've been enjoying a fire in the fireplace and all the coziness that goes with it.

I'll start another doily today, so I'll need to sit down and pick one out. I've got the bug again.

Nothing else happening around here. Thanks for stopping by!

Love to you all.

  5. Very cool! I thought it was called the grape doily because of the color, but then I saw the grapes. I know you love this cold, but I'm ready for spring! I can't wait for the ice to melt.

  8. That is one spectacular doily Pammy!! You are an expert! I've seen some grape doilies that are rather gaudy (in my opinion) and I have really never been attracted to them, but holy cow your's is just beautiful and so fresh looking! I agree with Monica, you need to show that one off. :) Nice work!
Have a great night, penny x

  15. Hi Pammy Sue,
Your doily is lovely as usual. I'm in the middle of making one. I'm not sure what it's going to look like but hopefully it will look at least half as pretty as yours. Not sure when it will be finished as I'm also in the middle of a Mystery Crochet Afghan. In between clues, I work on my doily.
