Wrist Warmers & Cheeseburger Soup

I guess I lied. One more finish before Christmas!
I saw these and had to make them...
I used Hobby Lobby ILTY in Old Rose
G Hook
Free Pattern:  Cabled Wrist Warmers

This Crock Pot Cheeseburger Soup is really good! Probably not the healthiest, but it would feed a crowd. I had to take some out of my big 6-qt crockpot before adding the final ingredients so it would fit. I'm going to freeze at least half of it for another time.

You can find the recipe here:  Crockpot Cheeseburger Soup

Pictures from the backyard this morning...
There's still some green out there.

We got a little over 1/2 an inch of rain last night and this morning.

See the steam rising from the fence?
I was hoping it would show up a little better in the photos.

I have no idea what I'm going to crochet along with my poncho next. For some reason, I can't crochet on that poncho very long at one time. It makes my arm hurt. I'm such a creaky old lady! Maybe it's just the bigger motions with the bigger yarn and hook after using the thread for so long.

I'll be back soon, I'm sure. See ya.

  2. I love your wrist warmers! I have ONE made in a rich red from Mrs. Macawber's CAL. I even painted my nails red so they'd look good.. but I haven't made the 2nd one yet. I'm trying to get my red beret done. It's kind of flimsy so I'm worried it won't work out. Your soup looks yummy! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  4. Hi, I just want to thank you for your blog posts, you make me smile, chuckle and belly laugh (and sigh too).
Your doggys are gorgeous and I am overwhelmed at the speed of your doileys. It took me 2 years to finish my friend's request (I blame big depressive gaps).
I hope you have a peaceful Christmas and a hopeful New Year.
    Love Susan x

  9. Question for you. . . do you think the wrist warmers could be adapted for toddler leg warmers?

My niece has wanted me to make a pair of cabled leg warmers for my great niece for some time.

Hope you and the Captain have a good Christmas . . and spoil those fur-babies with good treats :)

I'm getting over my anxiety attack. One day at a time I guess. Today is a big day because we need to go see the man's family for Christmas eve. Tomorrow he works.

  18. Wonderful handwarmers! Very pretty and a great color :-). The soup looks yummy, reminds me of a similar soup we have here that is called ground beef soup, it's with ground beef, leeks, bouillon and lots of soft cheese.
