Red Christmas Doily

I love the way the angels lit up from within from the flash.
It makes them look ethereal and mystical and beautiful.
They only did that in this one picture I took of them.
I think my REAL angels loved it and showed me so.

I have no idea why this one picture is showing up more pinkish than red. I couldn't fix it no matter what I tried! Beats me.

I threw it over a stool in my dining room for this picture.

Pattern:  "Penny Lane" from the book Absolutely Gorgeous Doilies by Patricia Kristoffersen
Thread:  Artiste #10 in Poppy Red
Hook:  1.75 mm
Size:  15.5 inches, blocked

Notes:  This is the easiest PK doily I've made so far. There wasn't a bunch of special stitches or a lot of added texture on this one, which she is known for. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THAT THREAD ORDER FROM KNIT PICKS!!! I'm sending them an email. Boooooooo, Knit Picks!

  1. Hi Pammy Sue, your doily turned out beautifully and looks great on the mantel with your angels. Sorry you haven't received your order yet, that is strange. I'd be bummed too. Take care, Heather

  2. That is a gorgeous doily Pammy Sue! Love the one with the Angels especially. I collect Angels so I have a soft spot for any I see. :-). I can see why you were so excited to make this doily. It's so pretty.

  5. The red doily is perfection! KnitPicks is slow, but I still love their products. I have used their crochet thread for my rock cozies and also got the pretty green and red and gold. I'm off to do calligraphy with my blog pal Gracie.. ciao! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  9. This is so beautiful. I love how you displayed it..it's just perfect. I always, always love seeing the beautiful doilies you make! :) I was reading somewhere on Rav that someone was saying they had ordered a bunch of stuff from Knit Picks and it still had not arrived yet either...not sure what is going on with them, but they sure are making a lot of people upset. Are you going to make another pretty doily like this one with the red thread you get from knit picks? :)

  10. Your mantel is gorgeous and the angels are so beautiful. That doily is a wonderful addition to your other doilies.

Know what you mean about orders. Ordered that book and kit from Annie's Attic on the 5th and the status is delivery the 15th. Must be the holiday season causing orders to be slower. Orders from there were usually faster than that.

  14. I love that red doily - now I'm going to have to fossick through all my pattern books to see if I have that one. Trish's patterns are usually a bit out of my league but this one looks achievable. I think I do have the book somewhere. Mind you, I really ought to get back to my Queen Anne lace 'whatever its gonna be' ... DD wanted a tablecloth but I think that request is a bit over the top. Maybe a runner. Have a good week. xox
