Last Day of 2014

I'll spend the rest of this morning getting this roast ready and into the crock pot with some onions, carrots, and potatoes.  Mmm...sounds good for dinner on a cold day, doesn't it?  And then I'll get those Meltaway Cookies sliced and baked and iced. I made the batter and wrapped it up yesterday. These are high on the list of my favorite cookies. So good! I'm making the Peppermint ones this time, but I usually make the Lemon ones. They're both good!

The paperwhites are rather leggy now.

I only got two stalks that bloomed, but it was enough to make me happy.
Now I'm supposed to keep watering it until the stalks die off naturally, clip them at the root, and then let them dry out and plant them in soil outside. I may get more blooms in spring.

The mantel is cleaned of the Christmas decorations.

I started this doily about a week ago. I've got the last 1.5 rows left to do before blocking. I think this one will be a Giveaway! I have to get a couple of packages ready for the post office anyway. Might as well get this out too.  Stay tuned...

I cut this ad out of a magazine because of the Granny blanket. I love those colors together like this...Cath Kidston colors for those of you who are familiar. I've always wanted to make one. That would mean buying more yarn since I don't have enough of any of these colors to make a blanket. Hmm...I'll have to think about it and see.

Tonight we'll be in front of the fire to ring in the New Year.
Y'all be safe!
2015, here we come!

  15. Happy New Year Pammy Sue! May my Hubby and I join you for the roast dinner and cookies? It sounds yummy. :-) I picked up yarn on Sunday to make the poncho, first though, I need to finish the baby blankets. I've been somewhat sidelined with back issues for several weeks now and it's taking me a long time to get anything finished when I'm lying down most of the time. I start physical therapy on Monday and the doctor gave me some pills this morning. I was trying to tough it out, but it was only gettig worse. Hopefully I'll be able to sit upright for longer than 10 minutes at a time and thus able to knit and crochet.
Your new doily is beautiful as are all of your creations.
Enjoy your evening at home, we'll be doing the same!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  24. Go on .... go buy the yarn ! Another lovely doily almost done - you certainly know how to churn them out. I admire you for being able to do that and they're all so beautiful. Is that little Ollie sitting by the fire? You should make him a coat. I had a look at the recipe for your lemon cookies - oh my, too many calories I think for me. Mind you, I'm eating way too much chocolate at the moment but I guess when its gone its gone :) Happy new year to you and the Cap. xox
