Doily Finished!

Two more dogs from the collection...
The police dogs my momma gave me.

Pattern:  August Doily by Patricia Kristoffersen, A Year of Doilies Book 4
Thread:  Aunt Lydia's #10 in Natural
Hook:  Size 2.0 mm
Size:  After blocking, 21 inches
Satisfaction:  LOVE IT! Totally worth all the trouble, although I didn't think so at the time. I'm so glad I challenged myself to do this one even though I was a little afraid of it. I think this is my favorite doily EVER so far. It makes me want to try more of her patterns, and I hope it does the same for you. Those of you who are still working on yours are probably rolling your eyes right now and saying NEVER AGAIN, but you'll see when you're finished. I found myself smiling and grinning my ass off while taking pictures of it to share!

Thanks to all of you who are making this with me. It made it much more fun knowing I had friends doing the same thing and struggling through the same stitches I was. I'm really looking forward to seeing all of your doilies!

Have a good weekend!
See ya.

  8. Holy Moly Pammy Sue! It turned out beautifully. I really like that color. I agree it looks gorgeous on your table. Will you leave it there? It's too pretty to put away. I now wish I had done mine in a solid color or at least a color that matched my décor. Well, that gives me reason to make it again right? :) I know what you mean about being all giddy when you finished. Haha..I did a happy dance and was so pleased with accomplishing such a trying pattern. It is my favorite one too. Today I've been looking through my patterns looking for the next project and I found myself marking the more challenging patterns. After crocheting the August doily we can make anything! right? lol. Thanks for letting us play along with you. Have a great weekend, penny x

  9. Hi Pammy Sue, long time reader, first time commenter. I don't have anything to say about this particular doily other than it is just as lovely as all the doilies you post. I just want to say, that I read you every day and often come here to use your blogroll. Thank you.

  10. It's beautiful Pammy Sue. I think we've made ours the same color. I've been halfway through the last round since yesterday afternoon and still no time to finish it. Maybe this afternoon? I hope so. Once I figured out the way this designer wrote the pattern it became easier but it is still not an easy method to decipher. At least for me.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  23. OMG - that is BEAUTIFUL !!! Don't you just love Trish's patterns? Most of them seem too hard for me - apart from the fact that they would take me an aeon to complete. I 'met' Trish on the internet many years ago through our mutual love of Pug dogs and crochet. Her parents had Pugs at the time. Trish is a lovely lady and I'm sure she'd be very very pleased indeed with your doily. Love the little figurines too. xox
