"Feel Good"

She's Done!

"Feel Good"

On the Queen-Size Bed

Pattern:  None, but it started as nine 8-round granny squares crocheted together, granny stitches, smaller, 2-round squares, and more granny stitches. Inspiration taken from Dawn's Blanket.
Edging:  This edging pattern is the edging from the Nordic Shawl and was purchased with the shawl pattern. You can get your own pattern HERE.
Size: 73" x 73"
Yarns:  Mostly Vanna's Choice and Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn.  The blue is Vanna's Choice in Colonial, the green is Vanna's Baby in Sweet Pea, and the rust color on the edge is ILTY in Terra Cotta. It's a mixture of variegated and solid yarns. I don't know exactly how much yarn I used, but it was LOTS. It's a huge blanket and it's heavy!

Now what?

I'm finishing a doily I've been working on for a few weeks at night, usually only doing one or two rounds per night. Now it's so big, I've only gotten partial rounds done the past two nights. I think I'm going to love it.

Last night the Captain came in and saw me working on the doily and said, "You're STILL working on that same doily? Why don't you make a smaller one so you can finish them sooner?" My response was, "Because anybody can make a little doily. I like making things most people won't take the time or be patient enough to do. It makes me feel good."

I guess that's what this whole crochet thing comes down to, isn't it? It makes us feel good to do it. Hence, the name of this latest blanket, "Feel Good."

Have a lovely weekend!

  1. Oh boy that blanket is huge! The colors are great too, Vanna's sweet pea is one of my favorite.
Good idea using the Nordic shawl edging, might have to copy that for my next blanket finish.
    Have a great weekend Pam!

  5. That blanket is so gorgeous. I love the colors. And I think the same. I really love to crochet big projects, because not everybody can do it like we can. And we can be proud to finish a large project like a blanket or a big doily. I can't wait to see your doily, when it's finished.
