Blue September

Showing you a another pair of dogs from my collection.
The Captain brought this one home to me from the grocery store years ago, of all places!

This is another we got at a Harrah's Hotel gift shop in Lake Tahoe, Nevada before we were married.

The last two photos made the blue look washed out. The first four pictures are the true color. Fun, quick doily to crochet. I was worried because it was so wavy and very bunched up when I was crocheting it and didn't look like the pattern at all. But after a good blocking (actually two -- I wasn't happy with the first one), it turned out fine. I've wanted to crochet this doily for a long time because I've always loved the look of it, and I'm very happy I finally made it.

Pattern:  Sirius (From the LA pattern booklet Stellar Beauties)
Finished Size:  15 inches
Thread:  Aunt Lydia's #10 in Blue Hawaii
Hook:  Size 1.75 mm

  2. Wow, PS.. that is an eye popping doily! Love the color and the design. Sweet of Cap to buy you dog figurines! When did you get married in Tahoe? I love that place. I want to take Dayle there as he's never been. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. Teresa, we didn't get married in Tahoe. We just took a trip there in 1989. We didn't get married until 1992. I love it there too! It's so beautiful, and it was November so there was lots of snow. Neither one of us ski, but we had a great time anyway. Went horseback riding, gambled a little, and took a ride up Heavenly Mountain in a cable car/ski lift. Good memories!

  15. Oh wow .. that blue doily is gorgeous. I can't get over how quickly you're churning them out and every one of them is a stunner. Is that little figurine a Frenchy or a Boston? Very cute. xox PS .. Have you ever done a Patricia Kristoffersen doily? I have a few of her patterns and they're very pretty albeit a little intricate but you'd manage them easily.

  18. This doily pattern is so delicate. And you chose a very bright and nice colour for it. Unfortunately my family doesn't like doilies, they prefer mandalas, so I'll stick to them. Have a niceevening, Viola
