Food & Creepiness

The taco soup is in the crockpot for dinner.
YUM.
Haven't made it yet this winter.

I made some vanilla cupcakes this past weekend...

With chocolate frosting.
They were great. We ate them ALL.
Except one which I split up between the dogs (no frosting).
Recipe HERE.

The frosting is about 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 1 stick of softened butter, 2 1/2 to 3 cups of powdered sugar, and enough milk to get the consistency I wanted which was about 1/4 cup or so. Also, I used an extra teaspoon of vanilla in the cupcakes instead of the vanilla bean seeds because I didn't have any.

And now the creepiness...

A gecko carcass!
Eww!

It was stiff as a board. See him eyeballing you? He's not as cute as the one in the insurance commercials, is he? Eww!

Eli thought it was cool though. He's the one who found it. I spoiled all his fun by taking it away and throwing it in the garbage.

Maybe you won't have nightmares about him coming for you with those eyeballs if I leave you with something cute...

Hee-hee-hee...

  2. Taco Soup is a staple at my house in the winter. Looks like you make yours a little different than mine, I spy some black beans. :-) Cupcakes sound good, especially right now for an afternoon snack. Hope you are doing great. Heather

Oh poor little Eli had all his fun spoiled by Mommy! Too cute.

Yeah...that dried up gecko is ickie! But you are right, when you added those adorable little pups hanging from the clothes line...it made everything all better. :)

Wishing you a lovely day. :)

  6. I love taco soup! Haven't made it lately though, maybe it'll go on the menu for next week. The gecko is creepy but also kind of cool! I love skeletons of small animals, they're so delicate.

  8. Pammy Sue-I don't have your email to answer your questoins, so I hope you see this!

The pattern for the doily is free on Ravelry. It's called Pineapple and Spider Web #7520

I get my tea online from bulkherbstore.com I buy one package each of whole organic chamomile flowers, cut organic oatstraw, cut peppermint leaf, Passion flower and mix it all together. It makes a LOT of tea. I've given a lot away and still have enough for a year or two. Just steep one teaspo in a cup of hot water.

Feel free to email me if you have any questions Pammy Sue at queenbetsy2@gmail.com

    Hope this helps,

    Blessings,
    Betsy

  12. I made chocolate cupcakes yesterday and frosted them with homemade butter cream frosting, but I should have added more vanilla. There was just something missing, but surely not the calories. I ate the first one by convincing myself that I was the only one around to be the taste tester, I won't tell you what I said to myself when I ate the 5th one. They weren't frosted at the time. I took 8 to my grandson. He took 2 bites and guess who finished it up. I should be ashamed, I know. The dried up thing does look creepy, lol.

  14. Yummy yummy yum yum ... those cupcakes look sooo tempting. I immediately needed something to eat so have a container of rice snacks beside me as I type. Not as good as your cupcakes though. That gecko does look creepy - he almost looks alive in the second picture. Did you wash Eli's mouth out ?? Our little Quincy had an unexpected bath last night after we caught him way down near the back fence (just over from the neighbour's chooks)playing with a dead mouse and rolling in the dirt around it. Yuk ! Cute puppy pic. xox
