2013 Kicked My Ass

...and I was very seriously considering not returning to blogging until I got a call from one of my very dear bloggy friends yesterday, and it was just what I needed.  SO...

I need a little more time to get over this darn flu that jumped up and bit me HARD a couple of weeks ago. It's just not letting go.  (It bit the Captain too.)  This flu is a bad-ass!  It was almost the straw that broke the camel's back for me after everything else that went down last year.

But I shall get back up and dust myself off once again and be back. Until then, here are some doggy pictures.  Quite often, my dogs are the only things that keep me going.

Is there anything more precious?

My little man, Ollie.

You can see that Sammi had an eye infection a couple of weeks back. She's all better now and all that fogginess has gone away, thank goodness. I was afraid she was going to wind up blind like Janie.

My favorite wild-child, Fletch. He's a mess!

Here's what my shoulder looked like just a few days after surgery. There's another hole more around to the back that's not showing in this pic. Amazing what can they do now through little holes in your skin! I hit the six week mark yesterday and FINALLY got to take the immobilization sling off. It feels weird and is still painful to move, but that'll just take time and a little more physical therapy.

Just a picture. I threw one of my doilies over a lamp in my dining room and thought it looked neat.

I did finally get some Madelinetosh Pashmina yarn for Christmas and have been slowly working on a shawl. It's going slowly, but you'll be the first to see it when it's finished!

If you've sent an email in the past several weeks, I mostly likely have not answered you. I just have not had any motivation to even read my email, much less respond or send any out myself.

Have a drink while you wait for me.

I'll get over this slump...I know I will!

See ya.

Hello there Pammy Sue
from way across the big pond over here in not very sunny Spain let me say I'm glad to see you are back again!
This life we are led to live just knocks us about something rotten sometimes ....jeez! don't I just know it!!! I've felt like dropping all and disappearing off into the horizon more than once .....still like yourself its cheer up time and carry on ....it so good that you have taken that decision.
By the way that doily on the lamp looks neat ...... why didn't I think of that!
Your dogs....cuties all of them!!!

Take care now

We get knocked down, we stand back up but it gets harder as we age doesn't it?
Life can just be too much at times, I understand.
Try to find patience as you climb back up.
I'm glad you've decided to stick around for a while longer. :o)

I can't tell you how happy I am to see your post. I was seriously worried about the possibility that we wouldn't be cheered up by your friendly, often humorous posts any more. Ollie is a precious little bundle isn't he? Those photos are so cute. Poor Sammi - good that the eye has cleared up. I love the idea of the doily over the lampshade - very effective. Must see if I can find a doily big enough to try on my lampshade. Sounds like you're on the home run with your shoulder now - bet you're happy to be out of that sling. Hope you can shake the flu off soon. Take care and give the doggies a big hug from me. xoxox

We all need that break sometimes, but I'm sorry yours has been more health related than anything. I hope you feel better soon. Your dogs are very cute :-) Thanks for the drink recipe; I'll put it aside for when I can have alcohol again in 5 months.
Blessings :-)

Well, I'm happy to see you back! I have missed your posts. I'm sorry to hear you've been under the weather. I keep hearing what a butt kicker that flu is. You are proof that you can't keep a good woman down. Get in those puppy snuggles. There's just nothing like it. Sending hugs your way.

Hi Pammy, stopped by to see what you've been up to and to wish you a happy new year! You've had surgery recently and the flu has whipped your ass. Just take care of yourself and you'll get well. Be patient with your arm and it too will get better. The Mandala circle crochet doily that you gave me sits right by my work computer and I see it everyday. I still love it, and makes me happy and I then I think of you. Take care my friend!!! oxox

I'm so glad to see you've changed your mind and are back to join us. Life does just plain stink sometimes doesn't it? But you have your little dogs for comfort and love and all of us too! :-) I hope you feel better very soon and that all will soon be right in your world.
Blessings,
Betsy

I haven't had my computer on all day, and when I fired it up, I was so thrilled to see you had posted.
The crossed paws was so cute!!! And the eye....eewwww...poor thing!
Your shoulder....ugh...But it sounds like you are healing well. Take it easy though, and don't go hiking. I fell right on my kiester, and scabbed up my arm and elbow! It's a wonder I didn't break my arm!
Love the doily on the lamp. It's the hippy girl in me. You know, a product of the 70's and all.
Loved hearing your voice yesterday! My little yellow rose of Texas!

I feel ya!! You know how long it's been since I've blogged. A lot of us go through that I think. I'm still there, unfortunately. Glad you are on the mend. I didn't get the flu but got another sickness at Christmas that is still hanging on. It's a head thing. Started out with very bad sore throat and then nose running like someone turned on the faucet. I've been thinking about you. xoxoxo

I was so relieved to see this post Pammy Sue especially after the goodbye to you song. You have had a lot of health issues to deal with no wonder you couldn't be bothered, hopefully you will soon be feeling a lot better now the sling is off. Love your doggy pictures:)

I am happy you are back in blogland. I miss your witty humor..nobody quite like you. Hope you are feeling better..and that the shoulder begins to move better and less painful. It all takes time. Many blessings and welcome back.

There are a lot of things that can get a person down, but letting it get the better of you is just an invitation to being depressed and curling up in a ball and saying "I'm done". I think we bloggers are made of better stuff than that, believe me, even with the loss of my husband I still find things to be happy about. There is sunshine after the storm and happy moments yet to come. You mend and take care, we are all here for you when you need us. Never forget that.
(((HUGS))) Susanne :)

Glad your arm is out of the sling. That's a step in the right direction. I'm down with the flu now so I have some idea of what you've been going through with that. I'm glad you aren't giving up on your blog. Sometimes it's good to take a break though.
