Good Stuff

Been reading this book for a few hours each night the past three days. I should finish it tonight. I have to make myself stop reading at midnight so I can get enough sleep. I love these kinds of adventure books and have read many of them. I admit I have bawled in a couple of places in the book, which I usually don't like. Who needs extra things to cry about? Not me. But anyway, I'm really liking it and just thought I'd share.

  1. Looks good. I may check it out. I have a connection at our local library. My daughter is a librarian. I just text her at work and she brings what I want home while I am staying holed up in the house during flu season. She just lives across the street from me :) I love to read and listen to audio books. Are you on Goodreads?
    Have a cozy, restful day,

  2. Thank you for sharing. I have heard really good things about this book and I'm glad to know you're enjoying it. I think I'll see if the library has it and place a hold.

  3. I've also heard of this book and appreciate hearing your positive comments - so I opened up my iPad and bought a copy to read on it. It's not easy to find a good book, so I like to hear suggestions. I'm currently reading "The Long Ride" by Nicholas Sparks. It's hard to read the actions of some of these characters, you want to smack them!

If it is an Oprah Book Club book then it is probably good. I have several of her books from the club in my little library. I hope you got my email that I sent the other day to wish you Happy Birthday. The Scotty mosaic is so cute, what a nice homemade gift! And, that cake, it looks yummy.

  5. Just looked this up on Amazon and it looks like an interesting read. Lots of good reviews too. I have dozens of books on my kindle that I haven't read yet. Might do a bit of reading when I'm on the train to Sydney which is a bit over a 4 hour trip. xoxox

  6. Thanks for the review. I remember reading something about this book. Will have to add it to my must read list. For a completely different "hike" book, check out Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods.
He walks the Appalachian trail with a friend and it is hilarious. No crying involved.

  7. Loved taking a walk with you (without having to freeze myself). Yes, that is a Hibiscus flower. Those bushes grow HUGE here and the flowers come in all colors....except I don't think I've ever seen a purple one.
The Kahlua cake looked really good. I hope when you try making it again, you can get it not to stick.
