A Nice Solitary Day

I can't help it...I ordered more yarn.

Some browns in sport-weight. I have an idea about what I'm going to use these for, but you can't know yet. I'm all about the mystery.

And then I must have been in a pastel mood cuz I got pink, blue, peach, and off-white. They are softer colors than they appear here. I have no idea what I'm going to make with these. I'm sure I'll think of something.

And then I went shopping today on a whim and shopped my ass off. I was just going to the bank when all of the sudden I was at Macy's and Kohl's and Old Navy. I was looking for a new Levi blue jean jacket, but I decided against it and got this one instead. It's way more comfortable. It looks blue in the above picture, but it's really more of a gray tweed...

This pic shows the actual color.

I also got a new winter bathrobe and some house slippers, several tee-shirts (long and short sleeves), and three pairs of earrings. Then I went through the drive-through at McDonald's for a late lunch. I hadn't been there in forever. The hot, salty fries were so freakin' good! I think my eyes may have rolled back in my head once or twice.

Anywho...I had a nice day all by myself. I prefer shopping on my own as I'm a little ADD when I shop. It either takes me three minutes or three hours -- nothing in between.

Speaking of ADD...
Look at the pretty grocery store flowers I got the other day.

These amber colored ones are my favorite.

I'm ready to make myself a cuppa, put my feet up, and snuggle with the K-9s for a while. I don't have to cook tonight because I made a big pan of baked spaghetti last night and we have tons of leftovers. We eat spaghetti a lot, don't we?

I hope you had a good day too.
See ya.

  1. I'm a bit like you Pammy, I like to shop on my own. Isn't it funny the way some days you just find stuff you want and other days when you go looking especially you can't find a thing?

  2. Love the yarn! I MUST place an order there! I am crocheting like crazy again for the holidays!
Love that you got to go on a shopping spree alone too. I love to do that. And I love the tweedy looking jacket. That looks so cozy!! I need a winter robe and slippers too. It is that time again.
I wish I had a pan of baked spaghetti in the fridge for supper tonight!!! I have SO much going on here, I don't know whether I am coming or going!! We need to catch up!!!

  3. I made spaghetti tonight...with sauce from a jar and frozen meatballs. Haha...my Italian-born grandmother is probably turning in her grave right now. :) I love your new jacket and it sounds like you had a delightful day all to yourself. Good for you. :)

  4. Love this ADD post!!! I'm an all alone shopper too. I usually have a list and then I'm done. Don't like to wander around unless it's vacation, touristy type shopping. :-)
I think your new jacket is just perfect. I want one too, but I think I might be a little, er, large shall we say, for it.

Your yarn and flowers are gorgeous too. Did I already say I really enjoyed this post?
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. It's great to go shopping alone. There are no demands about what stores to go to and no waiting around for someone else to make up their mind. You can do what you want. It is a nice change of pace. I love French fries....and I am so bad I will search the bottom of the bag for the stray one(s) that have escaped the container. I remember one winter's night, coming home from Toldeo, stopping for my dinner on the run, getting fries and having the bag sitting on the front passenger seat, stopping abruptly for a red light and my fries flying off of the seat onto the floor....I about cried. There was no way any of them were edible, they had all flown out of the bag all over the floor mat. I was alone in the car, and grumbling how "I guess it just wasn't meant for me to eat those blankety blank things!" I learned my lesson, I sit the bag way back in the seat and I eat the fries out of the big bag first, lol. Your jacket is cute. Love the color....and of course I love the color of the yarns. Yarn is my crack cocaine, lol...one of my many addictions when it comes to using the needle , basically, I'm just a hooker.

  9. Knit Picks has the best colors. Looks like you got a good haul there.
I haven't been shopping for clothes in a long time, your trip has inspired me. I could use some new slippers since it's FINALLY get colder here, at least in the mornings.

  12. Hello, I live in Belgium and I really like your blog. Unfortunately, I occasionally forget to look at the latest posts. Where can I pass my email? Then I get automatically for each new article a message in my mailbox. I have friends with a Blogger blog, so I know that it is possible in this way.
Please please can you help me ? Many Thanks :)

  13. I love that jacket. I love to spontaneous shop, I find that is when I find more. When I plan to shop I can't seem to find anything. The yarn is really pretty. I love the muted colors, can't wait to see what you are going to make.
    Hugs,
    Meredith

  15. Sounds like you've had a great day there Pammy Sue, I prefer shopping on my own too, love all your lovely new yarn, can't wait to see what you are going to do with it all. :)

  16. Oh my! I hadn't looked at Knit Picks' website. Now you've done it!! I have yet another place to indulge my yarn addiction -- could be trouble. Love your flowers and the jacket. I much prefer shopping by myself, and I do tend to find things I like more often on spur-of-the-moment types of shopping trips. Don't know why that is, but it does seem to be the case!

  17. I think McDs put something in their fries to make us all addicted to them. They are so freaking good. Love the colors on the yarn..looks like maybe a nice ripple blanket to me. I have never ordered or used yarn from there..I just may have to try it as they look really soft. Have a great weekend.

  18. Nice post :) Love your new yarns (was that in the previous post?) And I love your new jacket...a lot. I'm a t-shirt girl, too. I've taken to wearing those thin tank tops under stuff, too. Nothing cozier than a long-sleeved t-shirt on a cool day. I like good, solitary days, too, sometimes. We had take-out Chinese today...chicken chow main or chop suey or something good ;) Happy Fall y'all!
