Doily, Dough, Dogs, Dusk

Pattern Graph Only:  Carolina Rose by Lucille LaFlamme, Decorative Crochet Magazine
Thread:  Aunt Lydia's #10 Yellow
Hook:  1.50 mm
Size:  18.5 inches in diameter

I made these fantastic rolls yesterday using Dayle's Honey Wheat Rolls recipe. This is my new favorite bread recipe! I can feel my ass grow while I eat them, but they are so good. Ha.

The Bostons, Fletch & Janie
Did you two pahk the cah?
Hee-hee!

That was a little American dialect joke. You folks from other countries may not get it. And maybe it's not even funny wherever you're from, but it made me giggle.

I snapped this picture two days ago at about 7:45 pm. (I was stopped in the turn lane.) The sunset was so pretty! This doesn't do it justice, but you get the idea. These are the times when I need a fancy-ass camera to really capture the moment. Sigh.

I have my next doily pattern narrowed down to two. I'm gonna study on it a while and see which one strikes my fancy today.

We're getting rain, glorious rain!
Thank you Gulf of Mexico for the tropical goodness you've sent our way!

  1. Love the doily, it's beautiful. I've never been able to follow graphs for doilies. I know many think that the graph is easier than the written pattern but I guess my brain is a bit strange! :-) And the rolls. Oh. My. Goodness. My mouth is watering just looking at them. I can only imagine what I'd do if I could smell them too.
Your doggies are very cute and I did get the dialect humor. :-) And your photo is absolutely stunning. We've had some pretty sunsets out here too but not much rain yet.
    Have a wonderful weekend!
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  3. Oh Pammy Sue what are you doing to me girl! I love that doily, but I can't even stop to make it because I am knee deep in knitting shawls...but once I get finished, I am gonna start back to crocheting doilies again, I really miss it.

Your doily is perfect. You are so skilled at doily making, they always turn out so pretty and perfect. :)

    Yum on the buns...

I totally got the joke...I love that whole Boston area accent it always makes me smile...but then again I always crack them up because I sound so southern, I sound as if I just feel off a turnip truck! :)

Awww Janie and Fletch are so adorable.

Sending hugs and blessings your way sweet friend.

  10. Beautiful doily! I don't care for graphs or symbols but unfortunately the prettiest doilies don't have written patterns. :-( Hope you are feeling better! The rolls look delicious! My weakness is bread!

I spent yesterday at my Mom's cleaning the boat and patios. Up late making Nana's potato salad, and memory board for funeral. Thank goodness I didn't wait til last minute to write eulogy!
