Two-Year Doily

I finally finished a doily I started TWO YEARS ago!

It's been stuck in a drawer with only two rows left to go on it. I finished it last night at 9:30 after working on it all day. I kept messing it up and ripping it out and starting over. I was very tempted to throw it back in a drawer.

This was a CAL that Glor of Crochet Galore hosted that started on January 13, 2011. How embarrassing that it took me this long to finish. LOL. You can find the pattern link in Glor's sidebar, Rising Sun Doily.

You can see how big it is in this photo. I used Size 10 thread instead of the Size 20 called for in the pattern, so it came out really large. I love it. So glad I finished another WIP this year!

I gotta run.
Must work today.

  2. Looking good. Always nice when you finish an older project. Well, two trips north in two days. Enjoying a quiet day in the sun at the pool. It's going to be hard to decide tonight whether it's DWTS or The Voice. Boo-hoo, no Tivo at PC. Oh, well I'll take it. Back to work with you missy....hehe....

  3. Wow! I didn't realize how big it was until I saw the photo of it on your table! This is really pretty. It would take a pretty big frame but I think it would look cool hanging on the wall too.
Doesn't it feel great to finish a project that's been on the back burner for a long time. I have a few like that.

  4. The doily is brown and tan, but I see how you could think it was an eggplant color in that first photo. It's the reflection off of the window, I think.

  11. Your doily looks beautiful and I love the look of your dining room setting. So cozy. Just saw your post re the holes in the yard ..... sorry I can't help identify them but I hope there's nothing inside that can come out and hurt little Ollie.

  12. Oh wow I love it... so glad you finished it.... Hubby says he thinks the ground is saturated and the earthworms don't like being wet, so they are pushing out. He says go out at night with your flashlight and see Ha Ha I like snakes, but worms give me the creeps. I have watched too many of those episodes of Monsters inside you !!
