RED on a Rainy Day

I couldn't get a good picture of this doily.
The intensity of the red was too much for my camera.
But you get the idea.

This is September from A Year of Doilies Book 5.
Aunt Lydia's #10 thread, 1.75 hook.

I'm enjoying a dark, cold, rainy day here. Time for another cup of hot tea or coffee, a new thread color, and a new doily pattern. That's about all I plan on doing with my day. How about you?

  3. I am loving your doilies! That red is spectacular! One of these days I want to embark on a very large doily for my baby grand piano. It needs one! I want to thank you for inspiring me to make the Ruby shawl. I now have a Fall one and a Spring one.. and am toying with the idea for a Summer one! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  5. Wow, I think these are great. Love the color too. As you can guess, I've been quite bad about the hook lately. But we did get a good afternoon at Penny's pool and I worked him out for almost 3 hours. It's now getting back to normal, what ever that will be....

  11. You are making some gorgeous doilies Pammy Sue. Very talented crocheter. I have steered clear of thread for awhile now but now that I've had both cataracts removed and my eyesight has improved 100%, I might have to resurrect the Queen Anne's Lace table runner my daughter has been wanting me to make for years now. You are very inspiring. xoxox

  16. You combined two of my favs....red and pineapple stitch. It is so vibrant...did you have to block it?

  17. Sandra ~ Yes, I blocked it. I only used pins on the outer-most tips. Thanks for your comment! I love the red too with pineapples. Just wish it would photograph better.

  21. Pammy Sue, it is lovely, one of my very favorite colors is red. I have been into the doily thread for well over 6 weeks now and just got done blocking all of the things. I find blocking a pain in the butt, but it does make a vast difference in the overall look of the finished doily. I will post soon, hopefully this weekend when things aren't so hectic for me. Rainy days....ugh! I am so ready for some sunshine and nice weather in the mid 70's....that is my idea of the perfect spring and summer.
