Short Update

I've had a lot of work this week so have been MIA here. I have been crocheting quite a bit at night working on a new blanket. I showed a picture here a few entries ago when I first started it...the one in browns. It's about at the half-way point, maybe a little less.

Diet update: I died inside this morning when I got on the scale and had GAINED 4 LBS!!! Last week I stayed the same, and this week plus four? I don't get it. I'm totally not cheating, not even a nibble of anything illegal! I did find out that I shouldn't be eating nuts right now, and I was having a handful every night. That shouldn't account for what's happening though.  WHATEVER.

I'll be back in a few days when things settle down.


  1. I can't wait to see your afghan all finished!!
    Forget about the scale for awhile, and just keep doing what you are doing!!!! It will come off!!

  2. So disappointing when that happens, Pammy Sue - BUT DON'T GIVE UP!! It will be worth it and, if you've been good generally, it will show soon. I reckon nuts are fatal, though, as very high in cals. Don't get downhearted, and enjoy Valentine's Day - but not with choccy!! x

  4. Dang those scales! Here's the thing.. you're feeling better and slimmer, right? That's the important thing. Smile and enjoy your day and spoil the Captain. I'm off to volunteer at the falls.. then steak dinner with hubby, sis and her hubby. <3 <3 <3

  5. I have been eating red/pink grapefruit in the morning, or for lunch a coupld of times a week. . . just peal and eat, no sugar. Seems like they are helping with the weight loss.

  6. I think your scales are out of whack! Try someone else's. It just doesn't make any sense to me other than the scales need calibration.

  8. This happened to me too. Then I realized that every time I gained a few it was because I was taking Advil and it makes me swell and retain water. Now I just take Tylenol unless I really need the anti-inflammatory effects of Advil. Hang in there.
    You never know what is going to change the scale by a few pounds.

  9. Don't get discouraged... Next week you will have lost more and you will feel double better :) just hang in there, it will be all worth it :)

  10. Crocheting instead of getting my beauty rest will put pounds on me. No less than 8 hours and 10 is even better to keep the weight stable or come of naturally and easily.

  11. That's terrible! You've been so faithful on the diet too! That takes real work and planning. Maybe you are retaining water.....
