Some Old Favs From Flickr

The thunder is rumbling outside and it's dark today.  I love it.  It makes my soul happy and cozy.  I took these two pics in my backyard today and thought they were worth sharing...

A half-assed bloom on the crepe myrtles...

I may get in the kitchen after posting this and make a white cake with chocolate frosting to surprise The Captain when he gets home at 3:30.  He'll be off the next two days.  We need a Three O'Clock Coffee treat for those days.  White cake mixes are so good and very underrated in my opinion.  Make one and you'll see.  They're really good with a buttercream frosting with a little bit of Almond extract -- not to much.  But since he likes chocolate so well, I guess that's what I'll do.

Here are some of my old favorites from Flickr.  Maybe they will inspire you and get those creative juices flowing...

Go to my Flickr Favorites and click on these pics to see the info for them.

I'm off to the kitchen to make that cake.

  5. You never fail to inspire me. My fave was the flower blanket with the pink background.. great idea! And a cake.. another idea. I showed my 2 older grandson's the crocheted kitties and now they want one! Egads! We're having a lazy cloudy day with our 2 older grandson's. The 8 year old is out picking blackberries for us off our vines that we are trying to kill. lol. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  7. Pammy Sue, thanks so much for your suggestions and the link, I think you are exactly right. I have been making granny bowls and nothing is growing in size unless I want it to, makes me think I am not so horrible at crochet after all. Your cake sound very yummy. Happy Sunday,

Does my grandson need a crocheted kitty, well of course he does.....mental note to self, make Holden a kitty and we will name it Pammy Sue.

  14. Pretty back yard Pammy Sue! I made my Hubby brownies (with chocolate frosting) as a surprise yesterday. He's been such a sweetie while I'm healing from this bursitis. He had to attend an all day continuing educational course yesterday so I wanted to treat him. He was so pleased. Hubby just noticed our A/C isn't working. Temperature is slowly going up. Oh boy. It's going to be in the 90's again in a few days. Calling for service today. It's always something.
