A Luxuriously Muted Meow...I mean, Hello

On the way home from the doc today, I had The Captain stop at the "fancy" yarn shop.  "I'll just run in and buy two skeins of yarn.  I know exactly what I'm after."  Fifteen minutes later (some kind of record, I'm sure), I emerged with 11 skeins of the most luxurious yarn I've ever owned.

I wanted to finally try some of the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino I've heard so much about, and I was after some muted colors after I saw this...

The prettiest Amineko Cat I've ever seen by Marlene at Pontinhosmeus.  I need to make more cats!  They are so fun.

I'm really loving these colors at the moment.  It's all either Debbie Bliss or Sublime, and all of it but one or two have a small amount of cashmere in them.  One of them is Wool, Cashmere, and Silk.  It's all so soft!  I can't quit looking at it and feeling of it and rearranging it.  The Captain is sick of me yammering about it and keeps rolling his eyes at me.  I can hardly wait to see what it feels like to have it in my hands with my hook in it.

Just, just...
SQUEEeeee!

***********************

I got my stitches out today at the doc's.  All is as well as it should be.  I'm back to work on Thursday, I can drive again for short distances, and I can sit for longer periods instead of recline.  Itty-bitty progressively bigger steps back to normal.  I have some left lower back and side pain still hanging on, but that should get better and better as time goes by.

I've had a big day out and about the town for the first time in weeks.  I'm off to the bedroom to lay flat a while and rest.  (Yes, I'm taking my new yarn with me to stare at!)  The Captain is making burgers for dinner.  Yum.

  2. Oh wow that yarn looks absolutely gorgeous. I've never used Cashmerino and now that I've seen it close up, I think I might have to find some. My friend made one of those Amineko cats and it was gorgeous - so poseable and cute. Look forward to seeing yours. Good news re your recovery - take it easy though. No chasing Ollie around the house !!! :)

  7. I'm glad you're feeling better and that the stitches are out. I had to laugh at the Captain rolling his eyes at you. Do all men learn that move or is it just the hubbies of crafters who do it? :oD

  10. Yay, your getting better! :) I am so glad to hear that you are up and about and getting better. That's really great news. :)

I adore the Debbie Bliss Cashmerino yarn.
I made a hat for someone for Christmas and they loved it. It felt so nice working with it. I just know you will love it! I keep saying that when I win the lottery I am buying a truck load of the stuff! I think a blanket made out of it would be beyond awesome. :)

The cat is adorable...I can't wait to see your finish.

So glad you are getting better....sending happy thoughts and prayers your way. :)

  11. Dang it! Now I'm jonesing for one of those cats! Those are all colors that just call to me! Someone above advised not to be chasing Ollie around the house...I advise not chasing the Captain either. =) Can't wait to see the proud project that results from the new beautiful yarn. And I'm oh so glad you're healing well.

  12. How did I miss this new yarn. I'm thrilled you got to stop at the "nice" yarn shop. What a great treat after seeing the doc. This is going to be great for the bunnie. Are you doing this one or the other. It's a hard choice.

Hope you are feeling better today.

  18. I'm back again to tell you that I'm soooooo starting this darned feline TO-DAY! I was dreaming about her last night! Ugh, there are so many distasteful jokes I could type here right now...I have such a bad girl streak...I have to tame it in writing on blogger or I'll ruin my reputation for being a square old 50 something broad...but I'm dying to be bad! Anyway...a pretty pastel kitty is about to hit my hook...can't wait...and it's all your fault!
