Ollie is Home

DSCF6015

Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments, thoughts, and prayers!  You have no idea how much it meant to me to read all of your comments.  Now all we can do is wait and see if the bones in his little leg will fuse back together.  We go back on the 3rd of March for another x-ray and update.  For now we just have to keep him isolated from the other dogs and as still and quiet as possible.

We went out and got this pen for him to be in when we’re not holding him so that the other dogs can’t get to him.  He can walk between his bed and the potty pads.  The vet said he can walk around some on that leg without any problems.  He mostly just hops without using it anyway because it is so bulky and stiff.  I’m sure we will be holding him a lot too!

He does not seem to be in any pain at all, but we do have pain medicine to give him twice a day.  He is SO MUCH better than he was yesterday when I left him.  Thank you again for your thoughts and comments!

  2. Hey. "The Ol's" looks great. He just has on a new stylish shoe that's all. OK, I know it's more serious, but I'm just trying to cheer you up still. So, glad to see he is home right where he belongs.

  9. Awe, Ollie looks happy to be home, and I'll bet he wishes Mommy would crochet him a nice colorful soft cover for that ugly white hard cast :) And maybe a new blankie for him to match :):):)

  10. I'm glad your furry baby doesn't seem to be in any pain. Dogs seem to adapt to aches, pains and illnesses a lot better than we human beings! Prayers continue that the next xray shows the bone knitting just perfectly!

Please continue to let us know how Ollie is doing.

  15. OMG Pammy Sue .. I obviously missed your post yesterday as I didn't know about poor little Ollie's accident. I do hope his leg heals ok. I reckon he's not going to complain too much about all the cuddles he's going to have over the next few weeks. Please give him a great big 'cyber hug' from me too.

  16. Awww..I want to just snuggle and hold him and kiss on him. Poor babe. He knows how much you love him and I bet he's so glad to be home with you.

Before I knew Misty's leg had cancer in it she quit using it, it was just hanging because the cancer had eaten away at her knee joint. That's when I knew something was wrong and took her in. You'll be surprised at how he adapts to having that contraption on his leg and how he'll use it. Dogs are so resilient that way.

  18. Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about Ollie's broken leg. I'm praying for Ollie to have it heal quickly. It's terrible to have your doggies hurting I know.
