Old Round Ripples

I wanted to show y’all a couple of old round ripples I made back in early 2009.  I’m hoping to inspire some of you who may not be too keen on round ripples.  I made these two as gifts.

The free pattern is HERE.  It is a baby blanket, but I just kept going and made both of mine about 72” across.  They were both made with Red Heart SS yarn.

There are well over 900 of these that others have made with this same pattern on Ravelry HERE.  You could look all day at all the different colors and color patterns!  I love doing that.

  1. Love the brown one. I must confess I did join your flikr RR group with every intention of starting one but my enthusiasm has waned a little as I'm trying to finish some charity items. Is it ok to just be a lurker and see what everyone else is doing? I also enjoy looking on Ravelry at other people's colour choices for various projects.

  2. Fabulous to see these in other colors. Moving right along on mine. Thanks for getting me started. I will take some pictures tomorrow and post and put on your CAL flickr group. Back from War Horse and getting ready for Downton Abbey premier tonight on PBS.

  3. Hi Pammy!

I have to confess... I love the round sripple... but they intimidate me... But your doing great!

  4. I'm working a round ripple from that pattern right now! Using 4 colors, in Loops & Thread Impeccable Solids: Grass, Heather, Aqua and True Grey. It's turning out so pretty, I might have a hard time parting with it. (It's a baby gift.)

  5. These are gorgeous Pammy Sue!!! Just beautiful!

  6. I love the 2nd one with the rich colors. We went toodling about today.. got some neat photos of Mt. Hood. Now to watch "The Good Wife" -- we have Downton Abbey being recorded and Desperate Housewives is SOL - can only record 1 and watch 1. Buggers. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  7. Looks great!
Maybe I'll try something like that..interesting.

  8. Ooh, I kinda like the brown one. It reminds me of vintage crochet :)

  9. Miss Pammy Sue, I have joined the group on Flickr today. I guess that means I have formally declared I am crocheting-along. THE hardest part, of course, is choosing colors; I have been on Ravelry today. I am going to try and use this as a stash-busting project. But then again, I have a great nephew coming along in April. ARRRGGGHHH, decisions, decisions. I will blog and steal your button probably tomorrow.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Renee :)

  10. Don't make me choose! They are both beautiful
