The Big Chill

Finished!

DSCF4725

DSCF4734

The Big Chill, named for its cool colors instead of the warm I usually gravitate to, is finally finished.  I hope the pictures are not blurry.  I don’t have my glasses on and I’m too lazy to go find them.  Here are the details for those interested.

Pattern:  Storm Clouds by Jan Eaton, 200 Ripple Stitch Patterns

Inspiration:  The Garden Bell’s Orphan Annie Afghan and its beautiful colors

Yarn:  All Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn except one variegated color in Caron Simply Soft Paints

Size:  68” x 50”

Edging:  One round sc in Grape, one round sc, *ch 3, skip next sc, sc in next*.  Repeat * to * around in Antique Teal.

As you were.

  1. Stunning.
    Love the colors.
    Love the name.
    Love the pattern, of course.
Excellent job. Like the simple border on the O.A.

Hip Hip Hooray... what's next? Are you going to do more on that Fiddlestick pattern. I have that stuck in my brain to try.

Hey, have I told you I love when you post right before dinner. Not that I mind when you post in the morning either, but I seem to find you right away as I dial in for Thai tonight.

Back on track and caught up with Over the Rainbow. Hope to do a WIP on it tomorrow, but it was raining all day here and dark in the house.

  5. Firstly, girl, I love, love, love your new banner photo. That is breathtaking.

Your afghan is gorgeous as well. I love the colors. I imagine it's wonderfully soft, too. I love that HL yarn.

You asked about my pillow. The color is Red Heart carrot. I don't mind using RH for pillows, I think they hold a shape well. I use an I hook, and chain 61, that way I have the groups of four, with a half double or ch 2 at each end. I cover an 18-inch form, using fifteen row repeats, if you know what I mean, of the basketweave pattern. For the back, it's just ch 55 then do enough half double rows to make it big enough. I hope that tells you how I made it?
