Hall of No Shame

DSCF3298

DSCF3299

The Captain says I should be too ashamed to show you these pictures, but I’m not.  I have no shame.  This is my crochet pile in one corner of the Master Bedroom.  This does NOT include my yarn stash, which is mostly in big tubs under the bed.  There are a few skeins and partial skeins in there, but it is by no means by yarn.  This is just all the crochet crap that accumulates very quickly when you crochet every day like I do.  Behind that table is a bookcase full to the brim with more crap and most of my crochet books that you can’t even see.

I will straighten it out some day, and soon hopefully.  But for now, I know exactly where everything is so don’t mess with it!

What are YOU looking at?

Are you looking at ME?

We had blueberry boobs muffins for breakfast.  They are not nearly as over-done as they appear in this picture, although the bottoms are brown.

This is another thing I am not ashamed of:  I always use Betty Crocker Wild Blueberry Muffin Mix.  It’s the best.  I always think of my momma when I make these.  She always made them when I was a kid.  I always knew when she was making them because I could smell them baking before I’d get out of bed.

I have nothing of the crochet variety to show you today.  I spent most of yesterday, hours and hours, trying to figure out a crochet top pattern and write it out.  I gave up at 1:00AM and went to bed.  Forget it.  I suck at it.  I gave it a good go, so I’m not ashamed to surrender.  So there.  I told you I have no shame.

  1. ROFL Pammy- my living room loveseat resembles this picture!! And we won't even talk about my yarn/computer/extra bedroom in the back. My hubby puts up with tons but then he has his mess in the other extra bedroom and our bedroom so we're even.

  3. Organized mess is what it is. If you straighten in up...you'll just have to mess it up to dig something or other out.
Love blue berry muffins with Parkay margarine!!

  5. Must make some of Grandma Lytle's Blueberry Muffins after seeing yours. I always thought that blueberries were a waste of taste . . until I tried these muffins from a younger teacher at school. Now, they are a staple in my recipe repertoire.

  6. You crack me up. We need a closer look so I can pick out a few I know. Those muffins look great, wish I had done that this morning. Spent the day doing laundry, the only good thing about it was I got to dry my sheets out on the line. Yipee... I'll be sleeping well tonight. Ran out of Black on the Border and HL not open here on Sunday. On storm watch for now, hope to get some steaks on the grill...

  8. I think we should all chip in and get you a nice recliner to go in your crochet corner. That way on poker night you would have a comfy spot.... it really isn't that bad, but then again I have watched hoarders and this could possibly be only the beginning. Summer Yarn Sales are coming... :)

  9. Your wall of shame nothing compared to what I have around me I have a second bedroom half filled with yarn stash in storage bags, books, computer, kits and lots of finished afghans in zipper bags. Being that I don't have to share my place yarn is the rule here and patterns.Love your muffins they look yummy cup of coffee would be great.

  11. You're hilarious! I totally relate, Pammy Sue. My crochet crap is everywhere...it's in my bedroom and my living room. Grant it, I have a small apartment, but still - it's a hassle to put everything right back and honestly, I can't find anything when it's all nice and neat stowed away... I love blueberry muffins and am not too proud to use a mix. Wonder if it would taste even better if you added some fresh or frozen blueberries in there? I love lots of them!
I don't like writing patterns. It takes the fun out of crocheting for me, but I'm glad some people enjoy it...it's just not for me. I either use patterns or just crochet free style and make adjustments as I go...keeps things interesting.

    Have a wonderful evening!

  12. This made me laugh. Every crafter has and area similar to this somewhere hiding in their house. I have a sewing room, but I don't crochet in there, I just store my crap in there, along with all the other craft stuff I have. Because our house is on the market it has to be "picked" up frequently, but its still not perfect nor will it ever be. Let the Captain know this NORMAL why hide it? How coincidental, I made blueberry apple muffins this morning.

  14. I am too ashamed to show my unfinished project pile. That's my stash...not finished stuff...but unfinished stuff. And it's not a corner, it's a room.

  16. ummmmm....I am now hungry for blueberry muffins. They look yummy!

Your crochet only occupies a corner in the master bedroom??? I'm impressed!! I have several piles....all over the house :-)

  17. I have my stuff in 3 rooms, but the bulk of the present crocheting in progress is in my 'used to be dining room' presently crochet corner. It helps to not have a significant other. Leo doesn't care. lol.

  18. I know what you mean about our yarn stash taking over areas of our homes. I had my yarn stash in the corner of our family room but when I had BUNCO last week I asked Hubby to move it all down into the basement. I haven't moved it back yet. I'm still working on my Muddy Waters throw. Did you see Kate's watermelon potholders! They are fantastic.
