Healing

DSCF3123

I know…scabs are gross.  Sorry.  My hand is really feeling better and is less swollen, although I still can’t get my wedding ring on.  I can type and crochet, and I actually have knuckles showing now so all must be going well inside there.  The bruising is showing up in the pictures now that it’s turning yellow and green and brown.  So pretty and feminine looking, no?  I think that green matches my eyes perfectly.  ;)

I made this Chocolate Coca-Cola Cake this morning.  I’m going to be making potato salad later because the Captain is going to BBQ some chicken on the grill for dinner.  We have a NASCAR race to watch tonight so we must have good race food to go with it.

Here’s the recipe for the cake.  I don’t remember where I got it.  You can click on it and print it out bigger.  I was lazy and didn’t want to type it out.  (I accidentally cut the top off, but that’s just the title.)

It’s a beautiful day here in Texas, and I hope you have a beautiful day to match.

Happy Friday!

  4. Thanks for the recipe! I needed some kind of recipe to use up the buttermilk in my fridge from the carrot cake I made last weekend. I think I'm going to like this one much better.

Your hand looks much better, even though it's green.

The weather is nice here today too since that front went through. There was a chill to the air this morning. Have a wonderful weekend and NO dog fights. :o) xoxoxox

  6. Well Pam, it does look better, but it still looks very ouchy. That was some grip that doggin' had on you!! What did you decide to do? I am worried it could happen again. Your cake sounds wonderful, and makes me want to scrap Weight Watchers altogether! Oh, and your new blog look makes me want chocolate of any kind in the worst way!!!!
Enjoy the dinner, the race, and what looks like is shaping up to be a beautiful weekend!

  9. Ouch and yum :) I read in your comments in Teacup Lane you wanted the baby bonnet pattern. Its in Crotiques site under shell bonnet. You can see another picture of it in my archiveshttp://mimisgotyarn.blogspot.com/2010/06/another-bubblegum-pink-sweater-set.html

I believe I linked.... If you have it just ignore this. Bonnet is easy and fune and cute.

  13. Well I'll be darned....I can't believe you gave that book to RJ. I'm gonna have to borrow it from her you know! Idon't have time for crocheting much now anyway.

Now...about the hand....and you got onto me for showing my ankle where my bees stung me? Hello...this is much more gross...especially at breakfast time!

  14. Wow...that's a serious dog bite! I was bitten once and only once...also on the hand...by our childhood dog, Lady, when I was about 8 years old. My Mom had said if she bites one more time she is gone. It was my fault I grabbed her bone and then I begged my Mother not to get rid of her. She didn't. Actually, Lady was her dog. Lady would lay down her life for Mom.

Eli is such a pretty looking dog. It is possible to re-train him to not be so dominant?

When we had our German Shepherd my hubby trained him so that we could take anything out of his mouth, including bones, without any problems. Dusty liked me to hold his rawhide bones while he chewed them. I'm so glad hubby did that because I never had to worry about Dusty. German Shepherds are big dog with huge teeth.

Your hand is looking better. That is one nasty bite. Glad to hear you can still crochet.
