Mmm...Bread

Unbaked (Duh)

Baked (Duh again, but prettier)
Call you smell it?  I can!

I used THIS RECIPE today to make these baguettes.  I feel dorky calling them baguettes though.  It's just French bread, okay?  It was super-fast and easy.  Just 30 minutes total rising time and 15 minutes to bake.  A keeper!

A crappy picture, if I do say so myself.  The colors don't show up correctly at all.  Hmphf.  It will eventually be a pillow once I get 8 more of these babies done.

I got the pattern HERE.  There should be more patterns available soon.  For some reason it's not there anymore.  I've sent the owner a message so she can relist it.

Still no luck on the other flower square yet.  I honestly haven't even tried again.

Have a happy weekend!

  2. Yes, I can smell it!!!!! All the way here. I am such a sucker for hot bakery goods. I am "weak as water."

Also LOVE the square. LOVE it.

  3. Drooling and we just eat dinner, but I still want a piece. I bet the house smells great.

I owe Mrs. Twins/SIBOL some flower ones for May... I like this one. Are you thinking I can do this one?

Off to watch some T.V...early to bed. Up early for Park District Plant Sale in the morning. We all line up with our wagons bright and early. You really don't want to know how early... but early... coffee in hand and the boys are along to pull the wagons as we load up.

    Kate - Great Weekend...

  4. OMG I am gonna make that bread this weekend. However, those sisters are just too darn pretty if you ask me.. ha ha! Love the flower, there is a tutorial on her blog for a "Grandma All Square" that I want to try and see if I can make a pillow with. It's on my ever-growing list that is now about two miles long! Good luck with your garage sale this weekend, hope you sell lots and lots!

  5. I wish you lived with me. Baguettes is just the shape. Even in gem stones the long thin ones are called baguettes. So don't feel silly. man i wish I could wrap my mouth around that bread with some warm butter and honey or garlic juice. got to stop there or I will have to board a plane. That pillow is going to be so stunning. Don't give up on the other flower you were so close. I am watching and I am a nag.

  9. Your bread and your crochet look great to me. I'm doing a sort of South Beach diet so I can't eat bread. And I haven't had anytime to pick up my hook, so I'm missing both right now! Yes, I can smell the yeast! LOL

  10. I made the bread and it was awesome.. thanks so much for the recipe! I don't get it, the pattern for the Grandma's Garden Square is still not available in her Etsy shop. The one link I did found says it was sold out.... now how can a PDF file be sold out??? Doesn't make sense to me. Anyway, I will keep trying. Your pillow came out just awesome!
