Sammi Update

Sammi with her IV port and bandage.

I picked her up at 6:00 a.m. She's still sick and not moving around, but she's more hydrated and has anti-nausea meds and antibiotics in her system now. I'm taking her and leaving her at her vet in about an hour when they open. They'll give her IV fluids all day and hopefully let her go home tonight. I see lots of chicken and white rice in her future.

  1. Oh Pam!!! Sammi is in my prayers! I am glad you got her to the vet quickly. Our Riley was just 5 weeks old when we got her from the pound. She contracted Parvo before getting her first set of shots, and was in the emergency at just 6 weeks. After 10 days of iv's intensive care and my two - three a day visits (my vet set up a rocking chair next to her so I could be there & rub her little paw), she finally got better. We were overjoyed when he was able to release her. We spoiled her rotten! She is now 7 years old, and has been a wonderful girl. My husband tells people she is our $2,000 "free" dog. Please keep us posted & I look forward to your list of which plants to watch out for!

  2. I have been checking your blog all day. How is Sammi?
